Early Life and Career Beginnings:
Kapoor studied in Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai, followed by Welham Girls’ School in Dehradun. After completed her graduation, she studied commerce for two years at Mithibai College. She also registered her for three months course in the United States. She also developed an interest in law, and enrolled at the Government Law College, Mumbai; during this period, she developed a long-lasting passion for reading.
After concluding her 1st-year education, Kareena decided to pursue her career to become an actress. She also got training at an acting institute in Mumbai mentioned by Kishore Namit Kapoor, a member of the Film and Television Institute of India.
While training at the institute, Kapoor has cast the female lead in Rakesh Roshan’s “Kaho Naa Pyar Hai” (2000) opposite Hrithik Roshan. After she abandoned the project; Kapoor later explained that she had benefited by not doing the film since more prominence was given to the director’s son. She made debut later in the following year, by playing a role alongside Abhishek Bachchan in J. P. Dutta’s war drama Refugee.

Kareena Kapoor created her professional career debut by featuring in the War Film Refugee. In her career beginnings, she established herself in Hindi cinema with roles in the historical drama Asoka, and the drama Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. That was her initial success. But this initial success was followed by a commercial series of failures.
The year 2004, came with a turning point in her professional career when she played against type in the role of a sex worker in the drama Chameli. She earned wide critical recognition for her portrayal of a riot victim in the 2004 drama Dev and a character based on William Shakespeare’s heroine Desdemona in the 2006 crime film Omkara.
Kapoor returned to film as the female protagonist Geet Dhillon, the vivacious Sikh girl with a zest for life, in the romantic comedy Jab We Met in 2007. The film was received favorably by critics and became successful at the box office with gross earnings of 303 million.

In 2011, she appeared in Bodyguard opposite Salman Khan. The film was a remake of the 2010 Malayalam film of the same name. The film was not well received by critics, through becoming a financial success, with a domestic total of 1.4 billion.
